Health Technician (Optometry)

About the Position: This position is located at Carlisle Barracks Health Clinic This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service Advance Leave accrual may be authorized

Assists in the preliminary examination of patients

Assist patients in their selection of spectacle frames

Prepares and submits eyewear orders for fabrication.

Operates and documents results from Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer and Matrix FDT Visual Field Screener.

Performs specialized diagnostic tests following optometrist’s evaluation

Performs administrative support functions for the clinic.

Orders expendable, non-expendable and durable supplies used in the Optometry Clinic.
